Residents of Barangay Donganpekong, Matanao,Davao del Sur received different helpful services from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Matanao, the Municipal Agriculture Office and other local offices, through the Serbisyo Caravan and Barangayanihan.
In its continued efforts to help its constituency, Matanao LGU, headed by Municipal Mayor Vincent Fernandez and the different departments of the Matanao Local Government, providing services to Barangay Donganpekong in Agriculture, Tourism, Health, Civil Registry, and others.
The Municipal Agriculture Office administered vitamins for the livestock of Barangay Donganpekong; the office also provided for deworming animals. Dogs in the area were given anti-rabies vaccines. To help control the spread of rats in residences, rat poison was also distributed. One of the other services the Municipal Agriculture Office offered is PCIC insurance for the livestock and crops in the barangay.
Included in this caravan at Barangay Donganpekong is the office of the Municipal Civil Registrar, who facilitated the processing of birth certificates for the residents. The Philippine National Police also brought to the barangay their police clearance processing services. A film viewing was conducted by the Municipal Tourism Office for the attendees of the event, with free snacks for the children courtesy of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
On the other hand, the Mayor’s Office distributed food packs and two hundred pesos for individuals who had already received their COVID-19 vaccines. Other LGU Departments donated used clothing and other freebies to the residents as well.
In his statement, Mayor Vincent Fernandez said that this program was initiated by the LGU so that the residents will no longer have to spend money to travel to the Municipal Office to avail of assistance and services from the government. “Kami na ang mi duol sa inyo ug amo nang gi tanyag ang mga serbisyo para sa katawhan sa lungsod sa Matanao,” he said in a statement.
