Matanao Today:

Our infrastructure projects help build the future for Matanao. This will be the initial step in the unstoppable progress that the LGU Matanao is currently experiencing led by the visionary Mayor Vincent F. Fernandez together with the support of the 19th legislative council to boost the economy's long-run growth potential of the municipality.

Improvements to our transportation would allow people and goods to flow across the municipality more efficiently.

As with the current development that Matanao has today, there is no doubt that economic recovery is on its way, despite the series of catastrophic earthquakes the municipality experienced last 2019 and the neverending battle of the COVID-19 pandemic at the moment.

---

READ: On January 12, 2022, the Municipal Information and Tourism Office (MITO) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of Davao del Sur conducted a meeting with Mayor Vincent F. Fernandez to talk about programs and initiatives that will help the municipality and its people in a long run. This is part of the departments' mutual goal of assisting the local populace in improving their quality of life.

The DTI Provincial Director Maria Victoria Placer, Mr. Romeo Vasquez, Jr and Ms. Julienne Campaner ardently expressed their thoughts on matters being talked about. An excerpt of the matters being discussed was creating programs and strengthening the tourism industry to boost economic growth, create jobs, and provide incentives while still protecting Matanao's environment and cultural heritage. This chance also provided a way to discourse about investment opportunities and tourism skills-related programs that will greatly benefit the general public and Matanao as a whole.

The Department of Trade an Industry (DTI) assured that they will continue to support and give technical assistance to LGU Matanao to fully realize its yearning of making this town better and progressive.
